Are your kids cold in the pool, ocean or lake? I keep thinking back to a comment I heard from a swim instructor at a trade show, stating his boy students were always cold. (Pause - Here I just have to give a cheer for the bit of extra fat we woman carry!) At that time we were discussing whether TrustyTrunks, leakproof swim diaper solution, would or could provide extra warmth. Many instruction pools these days advertise warm water, so I was surprised by the question.
It seems like TrustyTrunks leakproof swim diapers would be warmer than regular swim diapers, as that cool water is now two layers away from baby's skin. However, I have no hard data, so currently I can only go with logic. The bottom line is, TrustyTrunks providing warmth would be an extra bonus if they did, but it's not something I would build into them on purpose.
I wrote a previous blog article regarding thoughts about rounding out the TrustyTrunks line of products, and didn't even think of diving vests for warmth.
I can't see I've ever seen a kid in a wetsuit material garment, unless they were about to go diving. When we were kids, we swam until our lips were blue and the lifeguard made us get out. So, is there a need? Would a kids wetsuit vest solve a real problem? Zipper or zipper, if yes, front or back? I'm pondering the idea. Let me know your thoughts!
